The Children's Gift Foundation aims to create educational opportunities for children of all backgrounds. We believe that exposing students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) initiatives at early ages is essential to helping them develop lifelong skills. As a result, our foundation has developed the Kids Who Cube Program to demonstrate how STEM is relevant to students both inside and outside of the classroom.
The Kids Who Cube Events that have taken place thus far, occurred on October 13, 2017 and November 17, 2017. We invited an Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning Software Engineer to speak to more than 500 students at Longfellow Elementary School, Stevens Forest Elementary School, and D.C. Stanton Elementary School. Our guest speaker, a Carnegie Mellon University graduate, shared what he does as an engineer, demonstrated how math is found in everyday places, and solved the 3x3 Rubik's Cube. This program strives to make children confident with math and engineering skills, while engaging them in a creative way. Kids Who Cube is our way of teaching students why math is FUN!
